Dr. Bach (pronounced “Batch”) was a British physician, homeopath and spiritual writer, best known for developing a range of remedies called the Bach flower remedies. He studied medicine at University College Hospital in London and obtained a Diplomas of Public Health at Cambridge.

Early in his career, he worked at the London Homeopathic Hospital where he developed bacterial nosodes. Later, at 43, Bach started to search for a new healing technique, which resulted in Bach’s flower remedies.

Dr. Bach thought of illness as the result of a conflict between the purposes of the soul and the personality’s actions and outlooks.  This internal war, according to Bach, lead to negative moods and energy blocking, which caused a lack of “harmony,” thus leading to physical disease.
